The global Latin American bank
In 2008, two of the leading banks in Brazil merged to create an even bigger and stronger bank, Itaú Unibanco Holding. Today, Itaú is the largest Latin American bank and one of the largest banks on the planet, with over 105,000 employees and operations in 19 countries throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. In Brazil alone, Itaú has nearly 5,000 branches and 30,000 ATMs. Speaking of the planet, Itaú cannot think about delivering results without demonstrating a commitment to sustainability. Itaú were named Sustainable Bank of the Year in the 2011 FT/IFC Sustainable Finance Awards, chosen by the Financial Times and IFC (International Finance Corporation), the World Bank’s financial arm. Itaú believe that in order to sustain their business, the bank must also deliver long-lasting value to everyone involved.
